Snowfall…yea?

So the snow’s falling in Japan and as often happens in inclement weather, flights are canceled and trains run behind schedule. Not much else going on it seems.

Canceled flights continue, mainly at Haneda –Touhoku Shinkansen also running late – Big snow

Because of heavy snow across the islands on the 14 th , flights continued to be canceled, mainly those arriving at Haneda Airport, but also the Touhoku Shinkansen has been running late.

JAL had canceled 282 domestic flights as of 7 pm and ANA had canceled 250 as of 5:30 pm, affecting around 104,000 passengers.

According to JR East Japan, there were point failures inside the Shinkansen Center in Tokyo’s Kita Ward and so delays of up to 49 minutes were occurring on the Touhoku and Joetsu lines. JR Tokai said that the Tokkaido line was running slowly and that trains running between Tokyo and Shizuoka could be delayed by as much as 15 minutes.
